About Composure Photography
Professional Adventurers
Located in Winston-Salem North Carolina, Composure by DBP is primarily comprised of husband-and-wife duo Dan Beckmann and Erinn Dearth, who, when not with camera in hand, are found all over the globe as professional touring performers. Their most prominent venture, Letters From Home, is a two-person USO-inspired song and tap-dance showcase featuring music from the 40's through the 70's. This allows them to see sights and meet people all across the world, constantly honing their photography skills and capturing sights along the way.
Meet the Team
I found my love for photography while working as a singer onboard cruise ships. I was bouncing between Norway and Iceland when I bought my first camera in an attempt to carry some of this incredible experience home with me. I became addicted to the marriage between logic and artistry that defines photography, and for me, that was it. I was all-in. Since then, I have had the privilege of photographing dozens of exciting events, hundreds of actors and business professionals, and countless stunning locations. During a 50-State tour in 2023 with my performance duo Letters From Home, I took it upon myself to capture a gallery-worthy shot in each of the United States, which then became my first photography exhibition, as well as being published into a book entitled America the Beautiful: Visions and Musings from a Fifty-State Tour.
I have been a working actor and director for the past 15 years, which has given me immense insight into what hits and what does not in the audition room. This has helped me craft and perfect my headshot style to match what I'd like to see from prospective actors, as well as what has gotten me booked professionally myself. I love collaborating with people, and I live for the reactions they give to photographs that really "nail it." It's not entirely why I do what I do, but it's a big-ol' part of it!

Hi! I'm Erinn, and I serve as second shooter for Composure Weddings. Swapping lenses, posing couples and capturing moments from multiple perspectives are my job, but people are my true passion!
When I'm not behind the camera, Dan and I are often on the road together touring with Letters From Home, a theatrical production honoring our veterans. I'm also a writer, voiceover artist, and Equity Actress, and together Dan and I run Spring Theatre in Winston-Salem, which is now in its 13th season of producing live theatre, classes and camps for young artists.
My favorite part of being a part of events with Composure is witnessing joy in real time and getting to be a small (but meaningful) piece of someone's very special day!
